Episode 4: The Elephant in the Room

The Dublineers made their way with the Tesla to the Heralds Holdfast, a stronghold of powerful magical artifacts and arcane knowledge. The heroes were greeted there by Ebreneus the Articulate and his aid. There they learned about some of the great heroes of human civilization before they entered the Hall of Dwarves. It was there that Taliesin encountered the Azril Kron. A magical silver book written in an ancient dwarven language. The book sang to Taliesin, and the bard could not resist its Syren’s call. Late in the night, after hearing the book calling to him, he went down and touched the book, unleashing its powerful protection magic. The Azril Kron summoned forth a terrifying beast known as a Dire Elephant to protect it. Separated from his allies Taliesin ran for cover, hoping to bide time until his allies heard the disturbance. They eventually joined him (although Pudge came later than the others), and helped him vanquish the Elephant. Taliesin agreed to the offer made by Ebreneus the Articulate and took a position in the Herald’s Holdfast known as the Heralds Pursuivant. The entire party joined the faction known as The Harpers, a secret spy organization who’s purpose is to preserve freedom for all.
Anira and Ru spent time researching in the library and learned about the magical items that they procured in the Dragon Hatchery. Ru’s scimitar is known as Desert Wind, a magical blade that grows with power the longer one wields it. A very powerful legacy item. They also obtained a Bag of Holding, An Elemental Gem, and 6 Heartseeker Arrows. They also were able to research Anira’s heritage and found out that she belongs to rare type of creature found in the Fey Wild, a different dimension from our own prime material plane. Her kind is known as the Eladrin. They are considered the Original Elves or High Elves and the elves that dot Axis Praelium are most likely descended from their bloodlines.
Taliesin also entered the memory chamber and spoke to his dead grandfather Cnu Silveraxe and learned the following:

- He was sorry his Nancy boy father (Clancy Silveraxe) was not there for him. He drank himself to death when he was deemed unworthy to wield the ax.

- He was proud that he will be the Pursuivant. He thought he was little too bookish and not serious, but clearly Ebreneus saw something in him, and maybe it will take more brains then brawn to accomplish retrieving the artifacts.
- Cnu admits that he spent his life gathering information for the book. It will be Taliesin’s job to actually retrieve and experience it. He was extremely jealous of him.
- He did not know where Taliesin’s mother (Aisling Silveraxe) was, but he should return home to Amhearst at some point and make things right with Penny. She may be the key to finding his mother. Taliesin’s father said in a letter to him that Penny reached out to Taliesin’s mother.
- He misses Taliesin’s Grandmother (Teagan Silveraxe) she’s still alive and ruling in Silveraxe Deep in the western parts of the Kingdom of Battlekeg.

- The Azril Kron has a section of the book called the Chromatic Codex. This section can only be opened if you are in possession of the Chromatic Orbs of Dragonkind. All of them. Cnu had searched his entire life and was only able to obtain one of them. The White Orb known as The Frost Tear which was hidden in the Arboreal Observatory. This was the Orb that he took from Siberius the Winter King. There meeting was by chance. They must go to the Observatory and claim the orb before other fell forces go after it and return it to the Heralds Holdfast. The book is the key to unlocking the location of the Observatory. He must beware, as the Cult of the Dragon will constantly be after these Orbs as well.

Episode 3A: Wizard and Glass
Back at town, Baron Gerald Scalg gets wind of the characters heroic retrieval of the medical supplies. He throws a feast in the town square in their honor. The local brewery has even started developing a special lager called Dublin Lager, based on the road that led to Taliesins home when he was a child. The town is referring to them as the Dublineers. The Baron knows very little about any of the names the characters have uncovered at the mine but does mention that he knows about the Cliffs of Mardoon and has gotten reports of an encampment near there of kobolds and that they may have prisoners. He will commission the characters to pursue any further leads to help the refugees of Greenest and to protect the interests of Twin River Keep and reward them with 250 GP for any prisoners returned. The Dublineers also paid a visit to Avander’s Wondrous Supplies. There they returned the statue that they found in the Twin River Mine and gained their reward, a box of chocolate frogs, given to Anira. The Dublineers agreed to enter into a contract with Avander’s to be a walking billboard for them, agreeing to wear their Rainbow encrusted logo with a hand and a wand, emblazoned on their armor. The agreement extends their entire Adventuring career and extends to every piece of armor they wear. They will be given 100gp a month for this. The Dublineers on the advice of Avander, paid a visit to the Goblin Fish Tavern, and met a Wizard named Ebreneus the Articulate. The old wizard was a traveling companion of Taliesin’s grandfather Cnu Silveraxe. They sought sage advice from the wizard and he knew the following:

A. Lennithor is a blue dragon who is known as Lennithor the Thunder Tyrant. who has a great affection for the Tesla. He is greedy, intelligent, and aggressive, but not quick to strike a target of this magnitude unless greatly provoked or the reward to be truly great. He hails from the great deserts in the south of the world. For him to come this far away from his home is unusual to say the least. The dragon is known to be very greedy so it had to have been something of great value to rise him.

B. Lennithor has many servants in his employ, that worship him. There right now is a faction of dragon worshipers known as the cult of the dragon who have been seen causing mayhem all over Axis Praelium. Frulam Mondath is a high cleric of that order. The Cult of the Dragon also hated Cnu Silveraxe for what he did to the White Dragon known as Siberius the Winter King. If the cult should learn that Taliesin is a descendant of Cnu, that could be very bad for Tal

C. Langdedrosa Cyanwrath is a Dragonborn General who is pledged directly to Lennithor and is probably working with the cult for the benefit of his master. He would be there to organize, categorize, and ship his master’s horde to him. But it is strange that he would be this far north.

D. The mysterious blue orb could be a long lost artifact known as the Tesla. The description make sense. The orb has been known to exhibit great power for the blue dragons, which would explain why Lennithor would want it so badly. It is very dangerous to anyone who has it, as the cult of the dragon will come for it. It is known to be a scrying stone, that allows blue dragons to see great treasures of the world. With the proper level of attunement, it can also call lightning, and give the user resistance to Lightning damage.

F. Ebrenius doesn’t really know much about Morrigan the Darkheart. But he has heard rumors of secret society that is trying to revive the Revenant Order. Perhaps this Morrigan is part of it, the organization is rumored to be called, The Black Lotus.

The Dublineers accompanied Baron Gerald Scalg to the Carpenters to inform him of his daughters death. They also spent some time shopping the traveling wares where they all bought shoes off a peculiar shoe vendor and Anira got a black hood.

The town feast was a rousing success, Food and Beverages were had by all, including an amazing Wild Boar. There was dancing, and Pudge danced the night away. When the crowd called for Taliesin to go on stage and entertain the masses, he did not disappoint as he performed an original bard song known as the Ace of Spades, that will be remembered in Twin River Keep as long as the town stands.

They also paid another visit to the Nightmares of White Mane stable where they learned that the horses there are not entirely natural.

The Dublineers made way for the Cliffs of Mardoon. While stealthed they witnessed an exchange between faction members from the Cult of the Dragon and The Black Lotus.

Morrigan the Dark Heart gave the Frulaam Mondath the Tesla and the party followed Mondath back to their encampment. There they witnessed two executions. Making the decision to release the prisoners, Taliesin the Silver dresses as a cult member and tricks the Kobold Scout Captain into sending him with some of the kobold guards to release the prisoner. The breakout attempt hit a snag, as alarms were sounded before they could kill all of the kobold guards. This brought them face to face with the Zalsus the Kobold Scout Captain and his minions. The Dublineers made quick work of the Kobolds. The fight ended when Ru Ualtar struck Zalsus with her whip, used it to choke him to death, by reeling him by the neck into her body and the squeezing his neck with the whip so tightly it popped his head off.
